A Question to those who played Toulouse - France last year!

Better Things 2 Do!
Just a quick question :)

We are thinking of doing Toulouse - France (millenium) this year and as this is our first year as a team and wanna do some of the bigger events so we are thinking of this one.

We have our costs sorted out for the local tourneys in the UK but as we have never played abroad have no idea of the costs which I know include entry, flights, accomodation, etc. but just want to know roughly how much people payed last year in total to see if its within budget.

So if anyone could let us know that'll be cool

Cheers

Planet Piper away from you freaks!

What a question you have to remember that some teams are sponsored for paint so that will bring the cost down some. Lets say that you are not (gives us something to work with).

Flights depending on how quick you book is a big factor. But rughly £150-250. try this site http://www.opodo.co.uk/otpbvpl/Homepage/Page/Homepage.jsp?Locale=uk

You could drive takes about 12 hours and can be cheaper than flying as you would have to hire a car once you land in Toulouse.

Hotels are anything from £25.00 per person per room or bit closer to centre of town is I think £40.00 per person per night.

Paint mmmmmmmm approx £50.00 per case would depend on who you go see.

This might help and it might not but hey I am only trying to do my bit!

On the plus side ditch some tourneys over here and go to Toulouse it is sooo worth the trip!
Good Luck

We were looking at it ourselves, if you shop around a bit you may get flights a bit cheaper, I beleive Ryan Air fly to Carcassonne which is an hour or so away from Toulouse, but as you will probably need to hire a car anyway to lug all your equipment around then what difference is an hours drive going to make?

You could also consider camping as there are several sites round and about if you wanted to bring the cost down more.

Hope this helps

Cheers For the info guys

Been talking to a few peeps when they pop into the shop and everyone has said it was a really good tourney and had fun - but most got raped by taxi fares.

As I said we would all like to do it but obvoisly this isn't the cheapest of sports/hobbies by a long shot and not all have as flexible bank managers :)

So as a ball park figure would you say these are fair estimates per player (7-man)

Tourney entry - 65
Paint 2 cases - 60 (hopefully finalising sponsorship deal 4 2003)
accomodation 5 nights (camping were not proud :)) - 100-150
Travel probably minibus ferry - 100

So at a guess we are looking at about £400 - 500 is that on average what most payed last year?

I would think that £500 would cover it fairly comfortably, it would just depend on how much beer you wanted to drink and how many Ho's you wish to visit! :D

LOL - in the end it always comes down to beer and Ho's :D

Do the millenium board sort out deals with local hotels/camp sites etc in france cause I have seen it for campaign cup

Here are some of the prices we paid last year:

Bus ride from Germany 150 Euro--this included hotel as we went with another team--otherwise it was 40 Euro a night

Entry Fee---125 Euro per person

Paint---ALOT 30+ cases for the event...thank's to Pedro from Tomahawk for cutting us a deal

Food/Beer/Stuff...100 Euro...we bussed it so we brought some food

Roughly equals out to 550 Euro per person.....was well worth it as we won though

Hope this helped
