I'm a freshman at uni at the moment and looking to get a paintball team going for getting into leagues (the league?), testing the water shows the interest seems there and I have a contact to get our team a manager, only thing left (?) is to get equipment.

I'm only really aware of brands in paintball so I don't really know what I should look for, but I'm pretty certain I'd like to get a second hand automatic if I can, semi-automatic if it'd have to be a really low quality gun for it to be automatic given what I have to spend.

I'd like to be able to buy everything I need for £200, can this be done? If so what should I be looking for? (And how much am I overlooking?)

Cheers for any help!

1st thing auto guns are elligal in Britain, i would recomend a second hand stock cocker and it runs well on CO2, so get a 20oz tank. And you will need a decent pair of googs, and a pod pack, you can get different sizes. Oh and youll need a electric hopper.

Well thats my 2p.

Mate, if you are from the U.K which i assume you are hense the £ currency, then fully automatic paintballs markers are illegal to use anyway, for the £200 im sure you would be able to pick something up like a spyder or inferno with a co2 system, check out the classifieds section, cheers dude

Excellent!

That's good because I was hoping I'd be given an excuse to try and snatch an Autococker due to thems being damned sex-ay.

And thanks for the offer craigpil but chances are I won't be buying a gun for a good month, maybe not till after Christmas.

Cheers for the replies, I'm off to try and and build a team, see you on the fields

PS One last question, I was originally going to go for a Tippmann 98 custom with a flatline system, have you ever seen them show up in the forums? I might spend a bit more if that was available.

To be honest, Tippy's dnt really show up that much on here. Also, a bit of advice, the Flatline barrel isn't as good as it sounds. Yes it does increase the distance of your shots, but the way in which it does this means that the ball is moving slower meaning it is less likely to break past te usual distance.
I would stick with a spyder/pirahna/maybe cocker for now.

If you can get a cocker, it will grow as you have money to spend, there isnt anything on a cocker that you cant upgrade..you could pick one up cheap, about £200, with some bits..dont be tempted to buy a cheap, "kit" because its all there, be patient, and it will serve you well.
Could look like this one in a short while!!!

my advise would be this....spend a few quid on a decent mask....you can easily pick up a jt ize or similar for £30 on the classifieds here......

then before you even think about buying anything else, get yourself in the car and go to a couple of tournies, watch a few games and ask a few people if you can try their markers and see what you like the feel of.......

if you are limited to £200 for all your kit then you have already ruled out a lot of stuff......value for money wise a mag would be a good idea. they arnt as popular as they were a few years ago but it is a good solid design that is pritty much fool proof
