No I was the same as you - looked at that, couldn't figure it out and ordered a 'flame' drop forwards from Custom Products instead. London Paintball Supplies do them for about £25. I love mine - one of the best upgrades I've bought

It only moves the AIR forward about 1 1/2" and down about 1"

Yep it seperates in 2.

You see in the pic where that bump is at the bottom, well that's where the AIR attaches to it so you can see how far it moves it.

Personally I feel the AIR is in the perfect place on the standard mount but as I hate drop forwards with a passion I'll leave this thread now :)

does it replace the origonal mount bracket completely?
looks like it does.....

mmm begining to think that wdp have over complicated a simple drop forward!!! all they needed to do was to reverse the existing mount and make the bar slightly longer!

still after a pic if anyone has one

The AIR Compact drop forward does indeed split into two parts: the upper part attaches to the bottom of your grip frame & the lower part to the AIR reg - replacing the standard mount bracket. The two halves slide together and then are secured using a ~2" long bolt screwed in through the front face of the drop forward.

As Beaker said, it doesn't really move the bottle very far forward or down in relation to the marker, so I wouldn't call it a drop forward as such, it's just a mount bracket; albeit one that's a lot easier and quicker to fit than the standard mount. :)

WDP do sell more traditional long drop forwards, such as the Lady drop forward, although they don't appear to selling them through the website at the moment.

I agree with Beaker Matt, the AIR is best placed without a drop forward bolted right onto the grip frame.

In fact Beaker didn't you have some piccys on how a drop forward affects your grip when playing tight?

Matt if you've got a 1.1 bottle plant it on and away you go. It's comfy, (sort of;), and you can get your wrist in tight on it rather than curling around the bottle.

I think the 2 piece mount places it in the same position but is easier to remove. Then as it's a pain in the ass to switch off the system to remove it when full you might as well place it on and leave it.

After all unless you're swapping the AIR onto a spare marker what would you want to remove it for?

Please don't get me started on drop forwards, it's not fair, I'll get all angry and type nasty stuff  :)

There was an old thread on this in which yeah, I did put some pics in to show how I think drops screw up your profile. But can't remember it off the top of my head, try a search.
