Hi All

As it turns out i have some awesome friends who are scuba divers and offered to fill my paintball tank for me, so i looked around and purchased this from Rap4

http://www.rap4uk.com/Scuba-Fill-Station-p/v-sfs.htm

It arrived and i gave it to my friends on tuesday and they filled it up on wednesday for me, however when they gave it me back they told me about the slight hassle and opposite to what i thought would happen.

When they connected the Clamp and Paintball tank and then opened the Scuba tank valve slowly air started seeping out of the hole on the top of the clamp so they turned it all off, depressrised the clamp and checked it over, they did this a few times and couldnt find anything wrong with the tank, scuba tank or aclamp.

So, after nearing emptying half a 12ltr scuba tank tank (oops...) he decided open the valve much much quicker, much quicker than i thought you should from watching the videos, and hey presto. If you open the scuba tank really really fast the pressure must force the oring in the clamp to close or something and the tank fills up perfectly.

Is this right? Should you have to open the valve that damn quick to force a fill? Or is this a faulty A-Clamp? HIs scuba tanks and valves are top notch and he checked all orings and seals and services his tanks all the time.

You dont want to fill to quick mate its not a good idea, personally id say its a duff o-ring on your clamp or on the bottle, mines a din so screws in and never had any problems :)

I will try to get a picture up of the oring later and see if anyone can see in enough detail to say it is, hopefully so i can then just replace it...

I emailed them and they replied saying this is normal, it needs a quick burst to close the value. It will probably require less and less of a burst as its used more.

They said its fine to burst once to close valve and then slow the fill, long as its all sealed, no isses :)
