9V LITHIUM BATTERIES say they last 5 x longer than normal ordinary 9V alkaline batteries
would these work in markers or is it better to stay with say DURACELL

They work great. Overkill for a marker really.
One thing to note is that they can be ever so slightly bigger than alkaline 9Vs. So make sure it fits properly in the grip dont force it.

I have been useing them for a while now, i use ultralife lithium power cells and they work great,last ages and they are slightly lighter than alkalines.
But as mentioned above they are a wee bit bigger in size.
