I suggest getting something like an inferno or a electro spyder.
My first gun was a Spyder Xtra and it works perfectly. To have a complete setup all u need is the gun, hopper and maybe a 20oz Co2 tank with anti-siphon.

98c is a nice marker, for a first, a lot of my friends have that 1 seems to be very reliable and very n00b resestant
Nothing wrong with 98's but they are fairly limited in their performance, which is true of most entry markers.
Try to get hold of a second hand gun if your going for something simple. That way if the bug really bites (it will!!!! ) you won't have wasted much money when you decide you want something better.

I was just suggesting the spyder as it is more of a conventional shape.... gas through grip... double tube receiver... standard feed necks.
It may help develop gun holding skills and playing styles if you stick to a gun like the spyder that has a conventional setup and layout.
