Only me!

Right, so we have so far decided to give 7man another shot and we are currently still deciding what the gun and flag rules should be.
While you are deliberating that, give us your view on the gametime rules.
Do we go for the standard 7man, patient as hell, long and technical game, or do we spice it up a bit and put the emphasis on movement like x-ball and 5 man games?

You decide :)

Voted for the middle one, although if bonus' are going to be rewarded for hanging the flag in 5 minutes, then there would need to be a ref/ultimate with a timer on field that won't stop timing if knocked when said ref runs off to pull somebody out :dodgy:

Or alternatively, scoreboards that make it clear for everybody to see the time.

You need to just do the basics, not go all out and try and change rules that don't need doing.

7 man in its true form should just be one 7 minute game then another till you have played your games for the day.

This is why teams want to play 7 man because because of what it was.

Just go with the nppl rule book then you are not creating more issues than you need.

So after a general feeling that 7-man deserves to be kept alive, the most people vote for the x-ball-like format

well, we all know the format needs some tweaking, but the fact there is 7 men on the field alters the game completely. And the idea of multiple games against the same team comes from the NPPL finals type scenario.
Playing the same team multiple times does not solely come from xball, but you will probably agree that if a team just beat you, you sure as hell want to try and beat them back ASAP!

Point taken. I'm not convinced that a multi-point format works as well with 7-man, but I'm not the one willing to stick my neck out and try running it, so my respect to you for giving it a shot, whatever the format is.
