Hi

Got my shiny new Protege the other day and i'm slowly finding out about the mods available for this marker. I want to add to improve the performance and possibly to help it retain its value (it the nicest marker i have yet to use,i cant see me selling it for a long time to come)

So far heres a list.

Pillow bolt
Necroram (i get the impression that these are still undergoing trials?)
Tadao board.
Adjustable ram cap
Pro barrel kit
4C eyes?

Now,i have been looking at the 4C eyes system, looks like it will do something to improve the marker, but want i want to ask is,will it make a difference that is marked enough to justify the money?

Or is it just a minor tweak unless your ramping at very high ROF? (unlikely situation for me)

I had a marq and a closer with the 4 eyes and to be honest unless you want to shoot 30 bps 2 eyes are just as good and are only half as likely to go wrong.

Luxury upgrade but not a must.

Cheers:)

Thought as much, with the tourneys all dropping the BPS soon i guess that is an extravagance i shall not be stretching to.

All the other mods (apart from the barrel kit) worth the investment?

That pretty much happened a year ago. All Uk tournaments are 12bps now, only some wood balls venues are yet to drop the BPS count.

Pillow bolt on the marqs and a quick disconnect ram were a must but they work differantly to a protege No ramcap or necroram needed in a marq.

Get a yakuza board,Lump will back me on this, best upgrade you can put on any marker.

Yeah, marco who i traded with for the protege says that his timmys went nutz when he put in a Tadao board, got one in the pipeline for Early april. Meanwhile i gotta find a soldering iron as i just detached one of the battery terminals from the frenzy board changing the battery. DOH!

Thanks for the info

The 4 eyes in the marq is just a marketting thing.

Unless the board is able to cancel shots that have already started (ie the solenoid is energised but the mechanicas have not caught up), its not possible to even shoot 1% faster with 4 eyes compared to 2.

The lurker ram kit is also a good upgrade if available for the Protege

Got on in my Empire and it makes a noticable reduction to kick
