3 way

hey guys

I have read in tons of magazines and in tons of adverts you can buy a 3 way, the only thing is i have no idea what it does. i am a newb player so that may clarify the question.
please help

3 way is part of the front end on an autococker that directs the air flow to the ram and such places, so only on autocockers is it needed
