does it hiss when you dont pull the trigger

it is normal for them to hiss as you fire as they are venting gas
they shouldnt hiss if you hold the trigger back or if the trigger is at rest

if you have an adjustable trigger you can easily stop most leaks on 3-ways

if how ever it is venting gas from anywhere but the end it may be an o-ring....more than likely your cocker needs retiming or the trigger tweeking

its only when i pull the trigger

and ive just stuck the hollowpoint and blade on, so i've been tweaking it for a couple of days. i think ive timed it ok and got quite a short pull, and do you lube the rod anyways or not, cos its quite dry.
cheers
eric.

and cheers jahlad for the feedback too. you see i'm not an expert on cockers, need all the help i can get, and i love to stick new shiny bits on and tweak:D

the rod from the 3-way to the trigger no
the rod inside the 3-way, just lube the o-rings very lightly.

assuming it dont leak when you leave it sat gassed up. pull the trigger and hold it back, if it dont leak then eather its fine

if it does leak doing eather of these then you need to adjust the trigger slightly to stop it,
if it is not leaking then all you are hearing as you fire is the vent or gas moving in the 3-way, this is perfectly normal on all cockers.
hollowpoint 3-ways work in a totally different way to standard ones so they do sound slightly different

yer i meant the rod inside the 3 way.

yep ive managed to time it so it doesnt leak when the trigger is back or forward.
i am impressed with the short pull you can get with a hollowpoint too.
i'll go lube my rod now:D

and thanks alot.

your three way is fine... you say you've fitted the Blade trigger yeah? well if you think about it, the blade trigger reverses the way the three point runs (Back to forward, instead of forward to back) anyway, with a standard 45 frame and trigger, you dont get the hissing, thats because the 3 point is running the right way.... the blade trigger reverses the rod and three way, so the excess gas is vented instead of used in the LP hoses.... its ifne, and it happens... mine hisses aswell mate, but as Jahlad said, a good lube wouldnt go a miss....

not really, the 3way still works the same as it ever did, just the hoses are connected the otherway round.....more than likely the hissing he is hearing is because he is used to the sound of a standard 3-way not a short throw one like the hollow point which work on a different system that the others.
