ok, i have just bought a hollowpoint 3 way for my cocker but the lp hosing is too big for the nipples. Do I just squeeze the top hats on tight or do i need a lower diameter hose?

this is a guess, but i would reckon that you are using your old hose, which will have been stretched by the barbs. if you can get some unused hose, it will fit on securely.
the only problem then is fitting it on the reg and ram, as it will take a bit of effort to get on

yes...but if you just trim the ends off, it will work, as if by magic. worked for me, wont work if your hosing is on the short side tho

Or...
You can cheat a bit by using a hair dryer (VERY GENTLY, only a little) to shrink the hosing around the barbs and get a tighter fit. However, this is more of an emergency fix...much better to do what inbred eric said (trim the ends) and just spend the £3 for a ****load of hose, so you'll never run out/have to use crappy lengths of hose again.
