so, this isnt really a paintball topic.... sorry, but i wanted to know if most of you that respond are in europe. ive seen alot of references to the UK (directly or city names) and was just wondering how many of you are across the pond, if you will (percentage wise).

i know it doesnt matter when it comes to questions, but if most people are in europe, it will be useful to know when i get my team together and try to find other teams in my area. it would be a long way for a scrimage in england, lol.

thats cool. i just wanted to make sure i was right about what i thought.

now for the paintball talk... any suggestions for gettinga team started? like, markers to use, ways to practice, number of people on the team? any advice will be greatful.

thnx

If you are looking to start a new team the best thing to is make sure that the core players are all mates. It is a dam sight easier to teach someone to play paintball than it is to try and like a pain in the arse (even if he is a little better).

Go down to your local site and see who you bump into, see if you like them and then arrange a few days where you get to play together without any stress and see if it works.

I would suggest that the key is to have a core of five dedicated players that are all willing to learn and have similar size wallets.

When it comes to buying kit i would steer away from the typical 'starter' markers since the lower end tourny gats are now much more affordable and easy to maintain. I would also reccomend that if you are all buying kit for the first time that you buy it from a reputable shop/site and that you all try to buy the same thing. This will mean that if it goes wrong you will have somewhere to take it back to and also if you have problems at a tourny then the replacement parts will be the sane across the team.

The final tip would be never be afraid to ask the more experienced players in your area for help and advice. We all started out at the bottom, so we know what its like.

thankx for the advice. so far everyone ive asked has been a friend, so it looks like im starting good. the only problem ive seen so far is the money part. dedication hasnt shown since we havent done anything yet.

me and my friend matt were talking about the spyder pilot to start out. we were told its a good, lowend tourney marker. what are your thoughts on the pilot to start?

thanx again, and ill probably be asking more question in the future

its not bad for the money but no way is it a tourney marker, much better suited for the rec scene as it cant keep up with tourney markers. By the sounds of it an Ion, Impulse or one of the older angels would suit you best m8 :) The older angels have really dropped in price - which is bad for the sellers but brilliant for anyone wanting to get into tournament ;)
