2016 Series - Round 1 - March 13th

Hi all,

It's time to start getting organised for the first of our events in 2016. Round 1 takes place on March 13th 2016. There are a total of 12 team spaces up for grabs across two divisions.

The format will be much the same as last year, which was M5 format. At this point in time I have no intention to start using Race-format. We currently have no intention to switch to the WPBO ruleset for 2016 events. We will make a prominent announcement if this changes.

Team entry is £175. A deposit of £50 per team must be paid before the event. You can add 5 boxes of Sterling Claymore to this for £110 as an early-bird deal when you pre-book online - but this must be paid in full before the event.

We are expecting paint to be:

• Sterling Claymore: £27
• Sterling Mace (assuming it is warm enough): £30
• Other paint may be available, please call for details.

Already got 3 teams booked in for this - looking forward to seeing who else books in.

On a different note, given the very limited differences between last year's Mills ruleset and the now published WPBO ruleset, I can confirm that we now intend to adopt the WPBO ruleset where applicable. The format will not change from classic M5 and therefore some elements of the rules do not apply.

As the season goes on, will you be mirroring bunker layouts of the current Mills set up as at the time of announcement?

@Rikk We will certainly be looking at mirroring WPBO where we can for our open training sessions.

In regards to the tournaments, it is likely that the June and November events will mirror a current Mills setup, with March and August being a variation on a Millennium layout (but probably not radically). In the interest of fairness to all teams we only announce the field layout on the evening of the Sunday prior to the event.

Statement on field layout (as posted to Facebook as well): We're pretty sure that the 2016 upgrade kit won't be with us by this event as it stands. As a result, Round 1 will be run on a new layout that's not been run before. It won't be massively different to a normal Millennium layout, but it may well test which teams have players that learn to play in all places on the field. We will, as always, release the layout on the evening of the Sunday of the week before (so 6th March).
