hi, i've got a pure energy 1.1 4500psi bottle, had it for 4 months no problems.
The other day it began leaking from the guage, no problem i had it replaced. But today at the Big Game i couldnt fill more than 3000psi when the rest of my team could fill over 4000psi,
Any ideas why?

thanks
justin

Was the new gauge fitted with loctite.?

If overdone the loctite can block the air passages, but it may just be a faulty gauge.

You were definitely filling at the 4500psi fill rig (the one with the big queue) and not the 3000psi one, right?

the only2 filling to 4.5 were the 2 stations on the very right...

which i thought was silly as it was half and half for 3k and 4.5k and checky how theyd closed up shop before i could fill up before we left... :(

like to know how many times kitty jumped on players coming out without socks on... :D

yes i was most definately filling at the 4500 station, like the rest of my team. I wouldn't have though it could be the fill nipple as its still filling to around 3000.... the gauge was fitted with loctite threadlocker but a very minimal amount. i suppose i'll just have to try another guage, again.

You could weigh your bottle and another similar bottle empty and then add gas till each is full then weigh them again. If they are the same then you're getting 4500psi even though the gauge says 3000psi.

isnt that dangerous, the gauge telling the wrong thing?
it is an indicator of pressure, so i suppose yes it is dangerous if you believe it to be correct.
You could believe that it was empty when it still had pressure, which would be serious if you were to try and seperate the reg and bottle, but i'm sure there would be other steps taken to ensure the bottle would be empty.
