I have been looking to get myself an ego and have been offered both the 06 and the 08, obviously the 08 is going to be more expensive I think it was around £600 to the £250ish of the 06. What I'm wondering is if there's really enough of a difference in performance that would warrant the extra 400 odd squid. Any advice would be much appriciated! :D

get a 07 and be done with. its the best out (in my opinion). obviously if youve been offered a 06 and 08 then put up a wanted for a 07 *as you havent been offered 1* :)

had a 06 then a 07 and got rid of both for an 08 and then sold the 08 and back on a 07. its awesome :D

I have an sl66 which does everything i want.
To be honest unless your a total gun freak and planning on rattling off as many balls as possible in the shortest time then the only difference between any of the egos is weight and trigger pull.
I've tried an 05 and an 07, all good. all are fast, accurate and virtually the same styling.
Save the money buy an older second hand ego.

Cool well i have just bought myself an Ego 06 (maniac) why i have instantly fallen in love with :D. I was on the verge of goin Ego 07 like the guys said but i really couldn't justify the extra money, im one of these students you hear about you see! Its my 1st proper marker as well as up untill now i have been using a JT excellerator 5.0  so maybe in the future i shall own one of these famed 07's. Thanks for your help guys!!

Personaly i'd say an 07 is well worth the little extra for an 07 as the trigger is far better with everything else tweeked and improved.

That said an 06 is a reliable platform that is no where near out of date and will perform admirably. Hope you enjoy it man.

The stock trigger on an 07 may be better but personally I would rather spend £100 less on the marker and then put in another £30 to £40 (max) for a new trigger.
I still shoot an etek ego and can hold my own against every single marker out there, it is accurate and shoots 12bps, tbh its all you need (plus personally I love the feel of the thing).
