Bon; said:
more competition is better, more competition leads to more competitive prices and higher quality events.
Do i need to say anymore? So by your own logic, if Wendy moves events southward this will be direct competition and thus ensues the onset of better events and better prices. Am i wrong?

And about the typing, i forgot the "smiley thing" it was in relation to your quote in your sig.

Actually it's my belief that most 'ballers will go for the cheapest/most convenient/local option and just bitch about it, re-visiting the lesser tournament purely out of laziness, which gives the promoter a false sense of "job well done" - maybe 10-15% of teams will summon up the effort to travel outside of their comfort zone and explore a new venue/series without prompting, but most are too apathetic to care.
I agree. the almighty £ is king, nothing else. If you think otherwise you're kidding yourself. You're right about the bitching too. Something i learned when i ran as business was if 1 person has a good time they'll pretty much keep it to themselves, or say very little. If 1 persona dislikes it, they'll on average tell 5 people. Maybe where some of the persistent bitching comes from?

But if Wendy saturates the market, and forces the NSPL / CPPL to fold or scale back, we are back to the problem in the first place that Wendy conceeded, her events were causing the decline.

My sollution is she scales back, focuses on creating some very very high quality events, then spreads once the quality is back high again.

Read the CPPL forums, the opposite is true

If they fold then they weren't as good. Else Wendy's would fail wouldn't it? Ergo competition

Also i note the comments on the CPPS threads, and well done to them. But I'm not daft. The almighty £ is king over everything. If you, me or anyone had our regular disposable income and you had a choice of your usual event, or an all singing all dancing event with Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders massaging you after each game, with all the trimmings but it cost a grand, unfortunately we'd still be going to our usual event. Albeit with wet pants.

If the "Federation" is not in the business of telling people how much money to make, yet some tells you (out of courtesy mind you, bare in mind she didn't have to) they need more money why are the Federation so pissed about it?
If you had read the post correctly you would have realised we weren't pissed at all at her reasons for breaking her word, we were pissed at the fat she broke her word in the first place.
We always knew money motivated her and it came as no surprise to me at least, it was her love for money that sparked the move down south.

Maybe Wendy is at risk of losing her house. Maybe she's got financial problems. Who knows? We can only speculate. Only she knows the reason. If her events are that bad then it'll fall flat surely? If i and i would bet any one of the people on these forums were in a position where they needed more money for whatever, be it bills, mortgage etc, but it meant displeasing others then they would. anyone who says different if full of ****. Anyone.
Well......... let me explain something here, wendy declared the following to a certain well-respected board member, she had recently moved into a bigger house and found she now needed more money .... this was her reasoning behind the move down south.
Now, if as I suspect, this will be denied, I will ask the board member to come on here and verify just what was said.
As all of us on the board have said, most of the board telling her on the phone afterwards, it's not the fact she is doing this for money, that's her business, none of us on the board want anything to do with the running of her business, what we are pissed off about is the WAY it was done ...has the penny dropped yet with you Pid, no really, has it?????
She should have come to us before she made the move, it would have been appropriate and polite; if the intended action is in contravention of one's word that is given to another party, then the least you can do is discuss the circumstances with the other party beforehand.

now I'm only speculating here but I'll expect the usual so go ahead.
Oh, and Bon. You type an awful lot like Robbo. Coincidence or head in a dark place?
This is a cheap and ignorant shot not least of which is the reason I write a lot better than Bon [sorry Bon but it's true mate] which basically leaves the similarity in subject matter ...which of course is the 'truth of the matter'.
And so Pid, you are correct the common denominator that look so similar is the 'truth' and this I'm afraid is at a premium elsewhere.

EDIT: Also, if the Federation are so incensed about The Masters moving down south why aren't they applying the same responses in threads about Formula Five, Feekz etc. no disrespect to those guy I'm sure they're great. But they're in the south too. Just a thought for you.
Once again we are not incensed about anything of the sort, you're not that good at working things out are ya Pid?
We are annoyed she did things the way she did and this now conveniently answers your ridiculous question here, the guys who run those events you mention did not give us their word and then subsequently break it ...... if the penny hasn't dropped yet Pid, I give up, coz you will need some remedial work done on your rational processing.

Thats like saying a new search engine fails because it wasn't as good as google. It might have been 100x better, but it would get crushed before it could take off and build a stable, large base and the majority of people are reluctant to try the alternative.

I propose to you the same, how many teams and players do you think go to the masters out of loyalty/habbit and would only try another series if the masters wasn't on?

I'll ignore Robbos post because I'm tired and quite frankly bored of pseudo American backhanded attempts at put downs.

thanks for a sensible discussion bon. You make a good point. If a product is good, in fact 100x better than the existing model. It will excel, people would switch to it and thus create competition and therefore it'll grow and become more successful.

If i don't reply (before i'm undoubtedly banned for being blunt) tonight i apologise, it'll be because I'm off to bed.

Not true - to take the example of Google used earlier, there are many engines that have better algorithms and deliver far superior results but Googles' share is still 80-85% of the UK market. Or if you can cast your mind back to the VHS/Betamax wars in the 80's - Betamax was by far the better system, but VHS won out convincingly.

People stick with the crowd/what's familiar, not what is best.

No attempts at all, all of them were slam dunks ....... and for you to accuse me of indulging in cheap Americanisms, no way dude, no way.
