Hey guys, just got my sl74 out to play with and its doing something strange, its not cycling fully all of the time.. i loaded it with paint and began to fire got 1 to 2 consistent shots then the next ones dropped off really bad.. just in front of my feet say about 1 ft in front of me!.

Things I've done before this happened was, clean and lube the Lpr, rammer, bolt, in line reg including the velocity adjuster and change the battery for a new one, all as per the manual. Its worked fine untill now, so i'm stumped!.

Any help would be great guys, thanks.

did re-set the velocity on the in-line reg to it's previous 'position' ? i.e count the number of turns in/out on the adjuster screw?

It may need more pressure to the marker, also was your air tank fully screwed into the on/off?

these may seem like very simple mistakes but it's often the simple ones that are overlooked.!

And change the battery one more time. Batteries can die in your kitbag so get a fresh quality batt and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise, make sure you haven't overtightened your LPR screw (it should be flush with the end of the cap), and make sure the QEV diaphragms aren't cracked or deformed (though I'd expect a leak if this were the case). Generally, this is a battery problem. Especially since you're getting a couple normal shots off before it drops.

Thanks for getting back to me guys, will have a look at the qev's tomoz, seems now I've got 3 people saying it could be the diaphrams, thanks again.

I did strip the sl down again just after posting this message and now i get a good shot if i take my time.. its like it need the air pressure needs to build up and it will cycle ok. When i want to fire like normal (my gun is set on 15bps) it drops off.

If you wait a couple of seconds, do the shots go back to normal? If they do, and it's only when you fire a few at a time or you're ramping try this...

Before you mess about with anything too much, try unscrewing the OOPS half a turn. On some bottles, the pin gets pushed in too far and stops the air from coming through properly. It happened to me on my old bottle all the time.
