Hi Guys!

I hope this is in the right section!

How many of you use a red dot sight or a scope on your paintball gun?

I am getting a Bravo One Tactical paintball gun and I like the idea of getting one.

Could someone please say the advantages and disadvantages of a red dot sight?

Bullets arc too, the only difference is that a paintball drops a lot sooner than a bullet. The red dot will work for anything close to midrange, anything further and the paintball will end up anywhere. For me it has some use because it assists in showing me where I'm aiming my barrel. Sometimes I get disorientated with my gun so the red dot is handy to get me back on track. It's also good in a close quarters skirmish where you need to aim for a really small target like a toe poking out from cover. I have used my sight numerous times to score hits on other players.

So it's not entirely useless.

True about the bullets goldenelite but I thought since it was the newbies section id be a bit more basic lol :)

Ive heard good things if you play in doors but must people ive heard use them have binned them for use outdoors, unless they like to look the part in which case fair play. But what doesnt work for one can work for another.

thats the idea with all scopes and sights :p you position whatever aid you are using, at a certain height, and a certain angle, to be on target at a certain distance.

Yeah that's the point of sights. Also, I've never had a problem with using my closed reddot in daylight, though it may be the open ones that have problems.

Thanks for all the replies!

I know what the trajectory is like for a Paintball Gun. I am used to doing holdunder/holdover on my Air Rifles.

I think I will just get a decent secondhand one, maybe something similar to a Hawke (Deben). If I don't like it I can either keep it for plinking with my air rifle or maybe use it for ratting.
