Campaign 09 Feedback (previously known as "Ulrich is a tw*t").

Campaign was gash
crap venue, crap refs (from what experience we had), no atmosphere, no security, same old 4th event lack of teams syndrome

and why insist on putting the event on the wrong side of the worst motorway ever built, about as far away from all of the airports as they could

I went on all 3 days and wasn't really sure what to expect, except bad weather I suppose.
I hate rip offs and I mean, really hate rip offs, and so when I went up to one of them vendor booths and they relieved my pocket of £1.50 for a plastic cup, 3/4 filled with tea; I half expected Kate Beckinsale to come round the corner draped in her leather kit serving up the milk and sugar ..... I waited patiently but she didn't arrive, the only thing that did arrive was a feeling of having the fackin piss taken outa me by these vendors.

And don't even get me started on the ice cream people who conveniently didn't display their prices, which in my opinion was about as sick as you can get when the primary recipient of ice creams would be children.
It doesn't take much to work out the chain of events of any parent confronted with having to hand over extortionate prices after the kids have already seen and are sometimes holding their chosen ice cream.
What parent would take them back off the kids after realising they had just been robbed so blatantly and cynically?
Those particular vendors should have been injured !
What they did was illegal!

Apart from that, I thought it was pretty good for a UK held event and I'll go over it all in more detail in another post.

If its any consolation Robbo the staff in the Ice Cream van didn't know squat about paintball before Saturday and I spent 5 minutes explaining it to them and they've decided to give it a try. So at least paintball will get back some of its money

Ahhhh well, that's ok then .......... let's hope they won't mind being handed their paint bill after they have played where it details the cost per ball at around £2.75 .... I'm sure they'll choke just as hard as a lot of people did at the event when told how much their ice creams cost.

I suppose I should have suspected something was amiss when I saw the sign 'Dick Turpin's Ice Cream for Sale' ..............

The food was both terrible and overpriced, did anyone try the pasties at the pasty vendor? They were revolting, I had to bin half of a £4 pasty.

Still, the refs were trying, and all in all I quite enjoyed it.

note: did anyone notice the tent in the middle of the carpark? that was us.

That is something he wished to keep to himself and I have to respect his request for it to be removed. But at a guess I would say that a decision was made by Ulrich and Super Tit was not happy about it.

No, but my £5.50 hot dog tasted like it had been on the frier for a week!

I have been one of ulrich's staunchest haters and have long derided him and called for his sacking ..... but I will say this much about him now.

My biggest problem with him was his attitude toward customers IE players and teams, the very people the Millennium are there for..and of course the very people who pay his wages.

Unfortunately for ulrich, the college he attended when studying customer care was ran by an ex member of the Taliban but I did wonder what Millennium life would be without him.

Yes, we would have a few players less aggrieved with his behaviour but I also think the logistical side of the tournaments would suffer without him.

And so, maybe it's a lesser of evils here ... this of course doesn't change the fact ulrich is evil ...... but to a lesser extent

On the food, (btw what I had tasted fine....well apart from the price of course,) aren't they the same vendors that were there last year ??

Perhaps the Millennium could vet next years vendors for their prices and find out what they charge elsewhere and provide a "polite" (send Ulrich round to chat to them hehe) guideline limit based on what they normally charge. I know its probably a case of micro managing on the part of the Millennium but its one less thing they'd get ear ache for.
