i have a bottle that needs tested again but the law seems very muddled as to wether or not my bottle is still legal to use in britain.

it doesnt have the pye mark but is marked hse-al-fw2 which was a british standard for bottles in 2001. the bottle was born may 2001 with a 15 year life and is also dot tested to us law.

as i kind of asked earlier is this bottle still legal to be hydro tested and used in the uk or does the new legislation now mean the bottle is useless?

it was tested at hpac in 2004 (after the newer legislation was introduced) but i want to make sure before sending away

cheers for any help offered phil

It's definitely useable as long as it's tested, what test period did hpac give you on it when they tested it ( 3 or 5 years ).
Some hse al fw2 bottles had their test interval increased to 5 years after the initial 3 year test, but it seems some stayed at 3 year intervals. Either way as long as it's tested and within the 15 year life it's still ok to use.

i bought it after the hpac test so not sure on the length of test but its more than 5 years out anyway so a trip to the tester is in order

cheers guys
