BBC actually writes something positive about paintball!

I loved reading this, finally someone outside of the paintball worlds sees it as a sport, rather than a bunch of drunks playing rambo, of which I have to keep reminding my freinds that it isnt.

Although, it does make me laugh with some of the comments, particularly the girl at the end saying that any projectile firing instrament is a gun, no matter what you call it. lol

i was tempted to have arant against the whole scheme, but thought it better and prudent to hold my tongue...

well, if we can get the country on our side about the idustry being a sport, maybe this has started something good for the sport, in a weird sort of way...

its good that theres was space for a insight on the "sport" side of paintball
as general opinion has always been sterotyped that paintball is in the woods
with mil-sim markers , and supair is a long shot from anything nearly millitaristic
so maybe that will show the public that is actually taken seriously and there are
people dedicated to keeping it safe and fun.

That's great. If the department that wrote that article is anything like the technology/gaming group that write for the BBC, they are all really in to or interested about what they write about.

The BBC is something to be proud of most of the time and this is a nice positive article, something Paintball (as a sport) needs from time to time, especially from the big players like the BBC, people take more notice

I don't need to justifty the thread title with a negative article. In my opinion the BBC typically writes in a left-weighted media style implying that the general feeling in the UK is calling for tighter control of (potential) firearms.
Regardless of the validity of that viewpoint, the BBC is supposed to be politically independent.

Here is an example where the BBC has written something that portrays paintball in a positive light.

That website is hardly preaching from the high ground. It shows it's own bias, much more so than the beeb which is policed to within an inch of it's life.

Some people just like to feel persecuted, (the bloggers, not you JDO)

Anyway, on with the thread.

I thought the BBC article was well written and we should welcome it.
