This may seem weird but has anyone tried making a decent ceramic bolt with a ceramic insert for it to run through?

It will probably break straight away but my Etek has play in the bolt because the anodizing has worn off. Putting ceramic parts in is clearly not the obvious solution but I have always wanted to try this.

Any one seen a similar mod?

Some one has already designed and made an awesome bolt for your etek, it has been tested in the harshest conditions and is made from the most light weight reliable materials available. They are designed to work perfectly with your marker and made by a company has years of experience, they are trusted and produce some of the best kit available.

Its called a cure bolt and planet eclipse make them.;)

Why change it if it already works great?

That's normal mate, you've got a bolt cycling thousands of times in the breech, you can't expect it to be still perfect :) It's been the same on my ego's and etek's etc.

As long as it's not chipping or breaking balls etc etc then it should be all good :)

The anno layer only measures between 0.001" - 0.006" so it wont be the difference between a tight fitting bolt and a loose fitting bolt if your anno is worn away.

Its already been mentioned that anno wear in that area is perfectly common and does no harm.

The bolt should only be lubed with a light coat of eclipse oil, any type of grease shouldn't be used on the bolt.
