Just seen a motor bike hit a runner!!!

Just coming out of town on the reading relief road (1pm friday). As I was driving past the roundabout where Matalan and the petrol station is if you know Reading.

I heard a moped horn
Looked round and saw a runner get hit full on (must have been about 30).
The runner was about 3 feet in the air and then the moped rider followed over the top of him.
Also saw the lights where on green for the biker so the runner must have just ran across the crossing without looking.

Not a nice sight :O

Thing thats strange is i've seen allot of adverts on tv about looking and looking again when driving. They should also say that to people walking and running across the road

He'll probably look both ways now for the rest of his life. It generally takes an accident or near miss to make some people realise. That gentleman has learnt the hardway

Thats funny an accident happened just recently where i go to school apparently there was a "gangwar" and thats really all anybody knows but anyway i was walking home 2 minutes after the bell went and saw this car come speeding down the road just outside my school and he then sees the traffic in front of the school and just brakes violently to which a kid from my school presumably in a different "gang" throws a rock at the drivers window, the window then smashes and the driver reverses onto the pavement doin the fastest u-turn i have ever seen and hit 5 kids 2 of which had to go to hospital one girl being treated for serious injuries and the boy for 2 broken legs.

it still scares me to go down that road and i dont think i will ever forget what i saw.

EDIT: thankfully the police caught the B****** turns out the car was stolen.

Sadly some people never learn though. I ran a kid over when I was doing 20mph in Portsmouth a number of years ago. I never had a chance to see him as he ran straight out and didn't look. Ambulance and Police turned up (as I rang them) and the kid laughed when asked if he'd been run over before. Apparently he'd been run over 15 times before as he kept forgetting to look when he crossed the road.

You see them all the time. People who just walk out in to the road in the blind belief that the traffic will instantly stop for them. They either either lucky and no traffic is near them, or they get a close scare. Sometimes though they aren't lucky !!
