pete call a local upholsterer. i did the very same thing at my previous house, they took a complete side off 2 sofa's and then put them back together was about £120..... well worth the stress and nag free zone :)

Im only 15, but i might know.

Have close is it to fitting? a tight squeeze?

If so, then most sofa's have a wooden bottom to them, With our sofa we screwed the wooden base off and then put it into our living room, it really does free up quite alot of space if you do that.

Hope it helps

Having just looked at the sofa on the net, I'd go with the upholsterer option, then never move house again...

That is one big looking mutherfunker! All I can say is good luck, if you pull it off and achieve marital bliss once more. I can normally get most pieces of furniture in most rooms but think I might be stumped with that one, especially if the delivery guys were. I'm surprised it doesn't come in sections to make moving easier. I think most of the sensible suggestions have been made but be careful if the joints are glued, the glue may be stronger than the wood.

BTW This page made the Google search for Vreta corner unit!

Take the feet off, should be either an allen key or a cross head screwdriver.

Try to remove all cushions if possible, usually you will find they are zipped on at the back but if they are stitched don't worry too much. Normally these big yokes are assembled in sections, so if worst comes to worst, remove the basecloth (which will be really cheap to replace if you Fcuk it up, in fact you won't know it isn't there when the sofa is in anyway) and have a look inside. If you are really lucky it will be in two pieces bolted together. Remove bolts, lift pieces, reattach bolts.

I have delivered sofas most of my life, never beaten yet :)
