Thanks for the advice guys.tbh I'd just pay the going rate, get your warranty and register the console new to yourself. peace of mind, plus for like £25 saving its worth it in my opinion.
If second hand ones were around the £100 mark I could see validity in buying one, but as it stands even used consoles are expensive, so forsake a night in the pub and get a new one.
edit - gamesation chuck in Mario and Sonic with it for £179
GAME have various bundles at £186 including a second game.

However, I have bought a 3 month old console for £150 with wii sports, wireless nunchucks and wireless controls. It's not the bargain of the century but the accessories would have cost nearly £100 so it's not too bad.
Anyone got a cheap Wii fit for sale?
