there was a small amount of air in the bottle when it arived thats why i could hear air coming out and why there is no longer air in the tank.
Define "a small amount"?

If the bottle is what we class as empty then the gun could leak from several places as the guns system needs full pressure to seat everything into place to start the firing cycle
High Pressure tank is empty below 850psi
Low pressure tank is empty below 450psi
(these are tank regulator pressures and not bottle pressure)

So what i'm saying is that if your bottle has "a small amount" lets say "400psi" in it but the regulator is a HP(850) then the gun will not be recieving the 850 that it needs to run correctly.
It's quite a common newbie mistake to let their bottles run low and then they wonder why there gun gives up firing and turns into a fire extinguisher with air pouring out from everywhere.
Fill the bottle, put fresh batteries in on the day that you play, into both gun and hopper, and i guarantee it'll work asuming it's a new gun.
(batteries drain whilst fitted to equipment so take them out if your not using them)
Hope that made sense as it's nearly 1 am and i'm shagged
Later;)

probably a dodgey bottle,
Ive heard thousands of stories about pure energy steelies and them not working etc.
In fact i ordered the same one as you from... BZpaintball and it was dead on arrival, it wouldnt fill up.
However BZpaintball being the proffesionals that they are were more than happy for me to send it back for a replacement.

ahh that all sounds ok then. there was a very small amount in, dont know what pressure it was. so even if i dont atempt to fire it the air can leak out when its "empty" then?

as for them having dodgy bottles i guess i'll have to wait till i get a chance to use it to see if that works, which will probably be next month.

The guns system needs a solid whack of pressure up it's bottom to "set" everything ready for action, so yes an empty bottle can leak from many places, especially if you've pushed the bolt back to see the eyes working.....go on, you did didn't you:p

hi mate,
here it goes
"takes a deep breath"
ok,
my mate had the same problem with his gas, all you have to do is ignor the bottle hissing and screw it all the way is, and it will be as right as rain,

the bolt wont move without having the right pressure, but thats already been said;

the clicking is probably the solenoid, myn does that too :)

im not 100% on a SLG's eyes, but with my ion, when u strip it down there is a small circuit board built into the firing chamber, to clean the eyes just take it out and give it a wipe (this may not be the same for a SLG);

for the trigger setting and o ring info, its best to read the manuel. even if you think you know a section, just read the whole thing cover to cover, be suprised at what you might learn ;)
the manuel will also have all the firing modes, and how to change setting.

hoped this helped!

as newboy said, dont tinker with it too much.

i got my first marker just before christmas ( invert mini ) and i tinkered with it. and after that i had problems with it and had to take it back to the shop.

as said just sounds like your need more air in the bottle.

My timmy only uses 75psi so if i wanted to test anything i got the foot pump out on the fill nipple (can only get to 100 psi with the foot pump). Works a treat to make sure nothings leaking :D

Sorry not sure on what the working pressure is of your marker
