How about organising a charity event for the hurricane victims in Texas?

I'm a country member!
Invade countries and steal their oil!

Houston is the 4th largest city in the USA and, unlike New Orleans, mostly white and reasonably affluent, it's not like they need our cash! Or like their government is going to leave them out to dry.

Why not hold a charity event for the NPPL once the claims come rolling in for out of pocket expenses from teams, players and vendors who had already shelled out for travel etc to Houston?

Damn ambulance chasing Yanks

Donations for Disaster Relief Fund

Donations can be made online to www.McCormickFoundation.org/Ike.

The foundation will match every dollar donated by 50 cents when the fund reaches $2m.

Nicky T was going to pick up something for me at the Houston NPPL, but I think that money can now be better spent elsewhere.

You'd probably raise the same amount of cash for doing a sponsored skydive or something. I'd prefer to see my money go towards cancer research.

True, I can't force anyone to support this or donate.

I have donated to the WWF & RSPCA via standing order since 1987, but I think Ike disaster fund is also worth donating to.

Rubbish. Look after our own first.

What do the yanks do for us in times of need?
As usual the shortest path between two points is Dark Stranger.

Answers on a postcard if you fall for it ,points deducted for mentioning Vera Lynn..

But I agree with the general sentiment of the replies on this thread ,If the US are (as reported recently) spending summat like 10 billion a month on the war in Iraq then I feel they should help themselves first ,rather than help themselves elsewhere if you see what I mean.

Thread wildly off topic for a paintball forum don't you think...

Why donate to Houston, when they could not be bothered to spend a little money to prevent the devastation in New Orleans. Needless lives and homes lost in one of the poorer states, which is still fighting to get back on its feet a year later and they are asking for donations for one of the richer states.
I guarantee you, Houston will back to normal long before New Orleans
