I currently have a PM5 which runs perfectly well but im thinking of buying a PMR with UL frame instead. This a step backwards? any thoughts?

Step up in my opinion. Much smaller, lighter and the UL frame will give you a a range of firing modes which I don't think the stock board on the PM5 has.

While I agree the PMR is smaller and lighter, the PM 5 will still keep up there with the current range of markers. Also it's performance is a lot better than the PMR.
My advice get a lucky board and Tadao/Virtue (insert other type of after market chip), this will give you all the fire modes you need to perform on the tourney scene.

Whatever i can raise from ebay funds :D probably like £200ish but im thinking that could go further on other stuff so i may spend it wisely and upgrade other bits of kit which need it more.

did you know ul frame is heavier then stock on pmr's but some buy them for the feel of it............ just bought pmr le camo and its great when you use the right paint, its worth buying the le because of the cool camo and the alloy pars also the trigger is fantastic, easy to gear up and fire and i have no problem with thefeel of the grip. On www.justpaintball.co.uk they have a deal with pmr + ul frame for £199 which is very good price when it could cost a whole lot more, but pmrs shoot great with paint that fits the barrel as at bauty last weekend paint was way to small and fell straight through the barrel and paint was going in all directions so i wouldnt advise using the h18 tournament with the rail.
