well I want something fairly solid. I`m quite a big bloke so I`m less concerned about lightweightness.

your best bet is going to a local walk-on and having ago of other peoples markers to get a fell for one you like.

i would go ego. although like stokecity said, go try em both and see which one you like more as both are very similar in terms of all round performance

yeah I was leaning towards the Ego, simply because I prefer the look. Also it seems to be a bit more expensive which must mean it's better. Right?......

Get an ego6 or even an ego 5 if it has a star frame
