Eggs are alright, the egg3 bosts up to 23bps I think... and are better made than the earlier models which means the battery door is less likely to break off, they aren't pretty but most people have had one in the past and are pretty reliable. They aren't bad for battery life and use eyes to detect balls so aren't continually turning and that means they are pretty silent. They look bigger than halos and reloaders but that is misleading due to its shape, although it is taller because of the feed tube which if it hasn't can be shortened with the aid of mr.hacksaw

I have an egg three, very very reliable..never failed or jammed or seized. Holds up to 210 balls and apart from the back door which is a pain for filling you will find it ok..
It is slightly wider than most hoppers but with the extra capacity thats only to be expected.

ya its is really reliable, used in the wet and mud and still works perfectly fine.

I used an Egg 3 on my old shocker and had no end of feed issues.... It did not keep up with my shockers 15bps ramp and even with fresh batteries it was still not keeping up effectively. Another problem is that because the egg is very back heavy it tends to shift the weight from side to side and put lots of force on the feedneck. If the feedneck is screw in like the shockers and ions e.t.c. you can imagine what constantly changing weight does to the threads. The threads on the breach of my old ion were almost completely stripped away meaning I had to stop using the egg or get a new breach.
I may have just had a bad experience but as far as I am concerned I have one as my backup only and I do not use one as my first. I will stick with my Empire B because I have had no problems so far after four months use.

Cheap, reliable, cheap, easy to fix, cheap, easy to get parts for and cheap.
Go for a Z-boarder if you can or an egg 3(z-board std),the only issue I found with the y-board was when my Ego was ramping.
I personally prefer them over Halo's and most other hoppers and I've tried them all,now replaced with a Vlocity but always got an egg as a spare/lender.
For £30 you should get a z-boarder with the battery conversion(no more broken doors),£25 should get you a clean y-boarder...oh and they're cheap...:D
