im sorry for blowing up in my last post, but it just seems your quoting me all the time in past threads and touchin my nerves with what you say

im really passionate about this sport and im sure like you i wanna win and have fun doin it with my best friend's and what is wrong with expressing my opinion on a forum which is what forums are all about in the 1st place on a thread that is either FOR or NOT to have coaching is what im tryin to say
Fair enough.

My point is, that just because some people don't like something, it does not mean that thing is a bad thing.

I agree that coaching should be banished, but I think everybody is forgetting how many times coaching has helped them...?

Perfect format for me is Xball with 15bps ramping without coaching.

cant believe how many people are suddenly against coaching. go back two years drop 7 man, multi point coaching games thing of the future

I've not been playing this sport long but i have seen a few games being played in the short space of time. I have witnessed a player make a fantastic move into the snake while no-one has been looking due to his team mates doing their jobs well, only to have the oppositions coach scream where this snake player is and stand right behind him with his hand in the air to give them a target.
So basically the team may as well have not worked as a machine together to get him in the snake and the snake player in question may as well have ambled into the snake in his own time, not caring about who see's him because either way as soon as he hits the bunker he is being laned

fair enough this was only a training game but if thats happening in real matches, matches that count then you must see how it is ruining an important element of the game. A team should be able to work this out for themselves through proper zoning, good communication and reaction, not some geezer stood behind the netting pointing someone out for his drones to fire at. It takes away a skill involved in the game a skill which makes good players great players.

I can see both advantages and disadvantages to sideline coaching. For new teams it can be good to force them to see whats often right infront of them but at the same time there is alot to be said for learning the hard way.

From experience alot of players dispise the coaching whilst on field as it prevents them from hearing the on field team clearer but when its allowed will have one to be on level pegging with the others. With X-ball i find it aids to the atmosphere and makes it more inclusive for those watching but needs to be monitored.

personally I enjoly both formats that allow and disallow coaching and will continue to use it when its permitted and still be stood at the sidelines when its not reminding myself to keep my gob shut and just swear under my mask to my self lol

I agree with the fact that it helps the newer players i've only just come out of being coached but i think coaching the newer players or more inexperianced players should be kept to the training field and not in the tournaments, some people may argue (and rightly so) that coaching can help a team all work together better because they have someone who is not too busy trying to square up to their bunker and playing tight to avoid all the paintballs that are coming their way, so the coach can see the game as it is being played and see the bigger picture, so a bit of advice here and there might not be too bad. But it is seriously overplayed when they are literally pointing the opposition out to them and telling them where and when to shoot.

.last week at ProActive paintball two young lads came in to try Sup'Air for the first time ever, after only playing rec ball a few times at birthday parties the lads being 15 and 16 years old.the 15 year old lad, wanted to play snake and as i play snake i thought i would coach him through what he was doing, he was up against a few people that have played alot longer than him and had more experience but where uncoached, and due to me coaching him he took out quite alot of people, and bunkered a few people on the snake...great stuff i thought its going to really get him into the game, but later on i said i would not coach him to try out for himself and needless to say he did nothing but hit the floor and get shot...so it goes to show that coaching requires no player skill whatsoever, so in tournaments me being new to the sport when i found some tournaments allowed coaching i was shocked as i thought that was cheating.......peace

yeah i have to agree that coaching is not something i think is worthwhile for tournies. i mean fair enough im new to the sport but wheres the use in being told exactly where to fire, when to move, when to pop up etc.. youre potentially just a robot being told what to do, not thinking for yourself.. it seems as if with coaching theres just not as much skill involved.. although i can understand the benefits with coaching for new players or new layouts.

5. In terms of or created by the law: a legal offense - a legal offence.. is that not what coaching is?
