Are the Wolverines still going in Fr.

How many here remember Mick Holdaways speedball events?

Or how WDP put on the first real arenaball in Brum? and showed the way forwards (or should that be backwards?)

Keith Idema, now there is a bloke who believed his own hype! I was in the same motel as him in Newburgh when the Eagles first visited the US and Idema shot a lizard on the ceiling of his room, with a Colt 45!
Everyone was out in a heartbeat thinkin we was under attack from the locals.
He even threatened to beat the c**p out of the PGI team (Press Gang) at a Pondwood Farm speedball event cos Rafe Farmer had advertised an 'Enema' vest in PGI, taking the pee!
He has moved on well since those days, just type his name into google when you have a spare three weeks.

Robbo looks good for 60+

Never thought he would make it but he seems to have avoided incarceration (AND being sectioned) to become a bit of an oracle but as they say, the truth is out there!

All good Pete, I promise....hehe

OK Mr Comatose, I will bite, which was of course your intention .... I avoided incarceration with a combination of luck, circumstance and Father Time having its wicked way with me .....as for avoiding being sectioned?

Well, that's really a matter of diagnosis, and as you may or may not know, correct diagnosis is not an exact science (tho it would like to be) and so maybes, I slipped thru the net :)

As for being an oracle?
I think I'd like to update that concept and think of myself as an 'informational resource' :)

The French team, Wolverines disbanded some time ago which is probably not a bad thing considering their political views which as you may remember, had some of them allegedly giving the Nazi salute before a game at Mayhem a few years back .... hmmmm, not such a good idea really

Their benefactor was a somewhat frightening individual called 'Hug' pronounced Hoooog, I got to know him quite well for some reason (certainly not for similar political views) and he was the head of a security company based in Paris.
He had over 200 guys working for him and was sometimes hired by the French government (allegedly) to 'clean up' certain political individuals who may or may not have been involved in terrorism.
Cross this guy, and you had very real problems, I'm glad he liked me :)

Mick Holdaway's events were cool, I just wish they had oil drums at both ends of the field instead of at just one end and big ass tractor tyres at the other.
Mick was a real character for sure.

As for WDP, the legacy of what they achieved in those first events lives on today and will forever be a milestone in our development, Ged Green was THE man and paintball suffered a huge loss when he decided to come off the front line, he is sorely missed by the UK and World paintball.

Keith certainly did not threaten me, but I remember Matt, editor at the time going down to Mick's to have a little chat with Keith re what you mentioned.
I don't think he threatened Matt, but he might have done on the day.

I remember Keith getting pi$$ed off at the mag Stewart Wall ran, and he was pi$$ed because Stewart had published a pic of his dog, Sarge, having a number twos.
Keith as you know was Special Forces out of Fort Brag and I got to know him well when he asked to become my team's sponsor.
In the dispute with Stewart Wall, two SAS guys were dispatched to Stewart's house to deleiver the message, Keith had called them from the US to 'enlighten' Stewart to the error of his ways.
Stewart had to print an apology the next month .........the 'or else' wasn't pleasant I can tell ya.

In fact, Keith's dog Sarge was actually kidnapped and injured some years later when two brothers and a third individual (I am intentionally not naming names here) had a dispute with Keith; they injured Sarge, the dog by shooting him him in the back leg as a message. All 3 of those guys died, one drank anti-freeze, the other two were apparently bombed in a car when it blew up ... this is of course, all alleged :)

Keith got in touch a couple of years back from Kandahar in Afghanistan where he was still serving out his sentence for alleged kidnap and torture of certain Afghan individuals and asked me to put his mate up who had just been released from the same prison and was at Gatwick airport for a few days in transit to the States, he and Keith had been banged up together ... I declined that undoubted opportunity on the basis, I thought this gun toting mercenary would be coming into my house after being banged up with Keith for 5 years or so, with no woman in sight for all that time ... I doubt my wife and daughter would have slept too easy on any of the nights this carnally deprived individual was in the house.

Keith was, and is, an interesting individual to say the least.
He once called me up while in Afghanistan and said 'Pete, man, get your ass out here, it's just like paintball.......you'll have a blast', I declined his undoubtedly kind offer and decided to remain within the confines of my semi-detached house in outer London with not an M16, Kalashnikov or F16 Jet Bomber in sight, I tend to sleep better that way I think
