i agree the fight was bad, but the whole boxing scene is the worst its ever been. fighters are lazy, drink too much, bad diets, struggle to make the weights, (not mentioning any names ricky) compare it to the 80s early 90s when all fighters HAD to be a lot tougher just to keep up and even have a shout a tittle. too much money not enough heart.

I watched the fight, and i must say i was dissapointed.. Im a huge Calzaghe fan, and Joe didnt really do too much.. in his defence, Hopkins was crap!.. he didnt want to fight he just wanted to get paid and go home, he didnt really put anything into the fight after the knockdown, and only really had a flurry of punches in round 10... I always hate when Joe drops his hands... but thats just Joe...

I was trying to explain to my wife that its easy to make a great fighter look bad, and thats what hopkins did to Joe...

There was no jab, if he worked from behind that and kept at range it would have been a different story!..

But like he says, a win is a win!.. good job Joe, you are well and truely the best fighter to ever come out of Britian.....

On a side note, the ref Joe Cortez should be sacked, or at least banned from reffing a US vs UK fight!.. he would'nt let Hatton fight his fight on the inside with Mayweather cos Mayweather bitched about it, and last night he let Hopkins get away with too many headbutts, elbows, holding and head/arm locking!..

Hopkins is done for me!.. Bring out Roy Jones Jr for one last fight for Joe and then he should call it a day, with record and titles in tact and a nice big bank account.....

Joe Calzaghe FTW!!!!

Coventry Bled!
roy jones as a last fight would be the best way for joe to retire, but he's the only one so far that really has a decent chance of knocking him out, if the fight does go ahead i'l be on the edge of my seat, joe needs to train hard for it.
and i agree cortez is a tosser, he worked against joe same as hatton, although i still think mayweather outboxed him on the night, if he kept his cool he could of atleast gone the distance.

Agreed with the Mayweather v Hatton fight... and also agree that fighting Jones Jr will be a great way to end his career, only way to make it better then that is for the Lacey Calzaghe to turn up, the Kessler Calzaghe would be fine, but the Lacey Calzaghe would be awesome, and i think would be very hard for Jones Jr to compete against.. Calzaghe needs to entice Jones Jr to come forward and work off of that.. not quite the back foot, but not someone that just wants to sit on the ropes and wait for a hold like Hopkins did...

Sniperlee how can you say all that stuff about them being lazy etc

There diets of season and the amount they drink is bad when off season.
Ricky is a good example here.

But heck have you ever seen there diets in season?
And the amount of work they put in?
They have set bedtimes by there coaches

And how can you say there not as tough?
They might be punching harder so it looks like there not as tough!
And for a start they have finally got part the obstacle which boxers should not do any sort of weight training, and the myth that its makes them slower, like heck it will if your a heavyweight, but at lower weights a bit more muscle wont effect them, it will make them stronger for a start (Ricky hattons coach will refuse to coach anyone who wont do any sort of weight training, but only small amounts of it though)

Also have you ever boxed before? And how knackering it can be
