Ok, need an opinion on this...

OK. You may or may not be aware, that my current paintballing, is as and when and not for a known team, hence, I won't be playing Campaign.

But, Luap and I want to go along on the Saturday as we did last year, when I managed to meet Robbo for the first time in umpteen years, Ledz etc, which was great.

This presents a number of problems for me.

I like the idea, of meeting up with people from here, as it is great to put a name to a face and just generally natter. But very few people know what I look like and I won't be carrying around my marker (which people did know about and have spotted me because of it, in the past).

So, do I wear my Team jersey, which bears my name on the back, despite the fact that the nearest I will come to any paint, is when it sprays through the netting?

I don't want to come over badly, by wearing playing gear, when I am not.

Nor do I want to advertise myself, because I think I am special or want people to think that is what I am doing.

My thought was, if I wear it, then if someone wants to come say Hi, then they can and I can get to meet a few people.

Of course, it would also advertise me to anyone who may harbour some sort of grudge, but my hope is that there aren't too many people about that do! I certainly can't think of any that have made it known to me:D

So...what do you people reckon and who is going?

wear it.

won't be going myself, but i'd do the same thing.

at least it shows who you are and what you do - marks you out as part of the community. if anyone thinks of it as givng youself "the big I am" then frankly they can go f*** themselves and take a reality check.

it's nice at big get togethers to put faces to the names, although i get easily confused when people wear their real names and not their aliases........ ;)

I will be doing the same Skeet so if anyone wants to say Hi and make themselves know I will be in my GWC jersey (if they arrive in time).

I got to meet some of the forums characters and gentlemen over the last couple of campaign cups and hope to do so again this year.

Yeah, I can get the "part of the community" thing.

Last time I was wearing my 3/4 length leather jacket and could have looked quite dodgy to some I guess, what with all the thieving that goes on at tournaments at times.

I appreciate your opinion.

I'm not into the "Big I Am" thing, but you know, it will give me the chance to hand out some of my "I've met SKEET" T-Shirts...

;)

EDIT: Gassy, does it have "Gassy" on it? Will Tony Lamb be going?

I'm going down a couple of days earlier hopefully to have a couple nights in London. :)

I don't think it's weird to wear your jersey, it is nice to put names to faces and much easier when you havn't seen the face when the name is written across their back!

Mines on the back, breast and shoulder/sleeve too I think, wasn't my choice!

Kat, I can sort out a couple of nights in, in Kent afterwards if you like mate, just need to show the wife a pic of you and she will be cool:)

LOL! If we do meet, I will be all meek and shy in real life:D
