PC Screws

Am i right to think that generic PC screws are the same thread as most Grips screws?

Not the same, but similiar. Interchangeable? Possible. Try it on your pc first, so you don't damage your marker board.

Jus wondered as ive just mugged the IT Bod at work for a load..

Oh right so you don't have the PC? Errm try em then. If they're longer stick a washer in, don't tighten them all the way without a washer, cause otherwise it'll crack your board.

i use a freestyle so board is no where near the screws

just need to know if the thread pitch is the same, im happy to grind the screws down a bit if there too long

Oh right ok good good. Errm for that, I can't say. If you've got one of those measuring things (don't know the proper name), you could measure & compare them both. Or you could just try it on the hole and see.

on my promaster pc screws where fine in the grip they were fine now got replacements though =] as of yesterday

Yep, PC screws are either #6-32 (most of them) or M3 (the smaller ones used for optical drive mounting, motherboard etc.) Most grip screws are, conveniently, #6-32.

Stick each screw next too each other and guess? saying this you may have 0 of one of the types?
