My mask is littery just like the low grade rental style V force ones. So deffo need a better pair.
As for Hoppers i've seen a couple i like being:

Revoloution Eye Force in the camo colour.
Empire Magna Drive in blue
Halo B with rip drive + V35 board

they're all sorta around what i want to be paying, so any other ideas welcome!
Go for the magna or the halo B, both are excellent hoppers and both have multiple upgrades and parts easily available for them.

As for masks, i'd go with either a pair of e-vents if you have a relatively small face or Grillz if you've got the spare cash

events are niiiiice:) or maybe some JT's the flex or proflex's are really nice. And yeah as for a barrel it doesn't matter about the length, anything above 16" (some say 14") just slows down the ball and is therefore just for show. Have a look at the freak systems or dye ultralites, if a ul get a large bore size to accomodate all paint sizes :)

I dont think its that it slows it down, it just requires more air to get it out of the barrel I think

I might also recommend a pair of playing gloves (mountain biking gloves are good for the cheaper option), as hand shots are a regular thing and hurt like a SOB if you take more than one at once.

just had heard a few extra inches on you're barrel gives you better accuracy!
hoho. ;)

as the others said, i would say buying on here is your best option as if you don't like something you've bought after trying it, at least it didn't cost you a small fortune!
