LP on Ego's, Why not good??

Hi folks

Not quite at the rocket science level of questions but I have just picked up a LP bottle and reg in a trade for spare but as I understand it Egos like HP not LP (I am using HP on my Ego at the mo').
Could someone who is wise and clever give me a quick expanation of why Egos like HP and Angels etc like LP.

i think its all about recharge rates. LP not as quick

Aye, thats what my low level technical brain was thinking It should be fine to use in rec play though, should it not as long as I'm not trying to constantly chuck strings of paint out of it.

some lp systems are perfectly fine others are not.....give it a try at 15bps ramping and if you see the paint start to drop off noticeabley then try another airsystem.
any hp system will work fine

Been using a crossfire LP 15 bps ramping on my Egos without a problem.

Yeah, depends on the reg, if it's crossfire like above then you're likely to be fine

I dont see why the companies dont just make a Mid-Range pressure bottle reg. I believe almost every marker would work fine with input pressures between 600-700psi from the bottle.

Originally, all air systems were adjustable. Then, because most guns started out on Co2, they came out with a more compact reg that would supply the 850psi equivalent of Co2.

Then things like the Angel came out, with a regulator that only required 450 psi or there abouts, because the internal pressure was around 200 psi (ideally, you want double the output of your inline coming from your source). So Cockers, had 325 psi coming from the inline reg, therfore required around 650psi behind it, which of course is covered by an 850 psi system.

The reason you want double your input, from your source, is so that the regulator recharges quickly...you don't want to be outshooting your reg as you will get drop off.

Obviously, not a problem on earlier, slower markers, but when the reg needs to be able to fully recharge around 30 times per second (to be able to match the marker) inferior LP regs just couldn't do it.

The Crossfire is very quick at recharging.

Thats about it, probably not entirely accurate, but then I know little about LP markers, such as Angels. Not all Angels are LP...I dont think the IR3 or earlier were.
