A 14 inch barrel to replace the standard 12 inch if you want more range.
A longer barrel doesnt increase range really mate, just a bit of accuracy, some people even prefer shorter barrels, allows you to play tighter and sh=zz like that, increasing velocity would increase range but not really the barrel, unless you had a ghetto A-5 with a flatline!

The advantages of an Ion are its a good solid marker,
Are you joking? the ion has a build quality of a fairground teddy

i know of loads of people to have problems with them,

but at the same time alot of people that have never had any issues with them.

Ive owned 2 ions my self and had a few problems and a good bit of succsess
they are as it says on the tin a good starter marker, you just have to know what your doing same with any gun really.

First the Pm5 is much more reliable, Ion's are known for being unreliable, also people like Neil at heaven are sent out from Dye to fix proto and dye markers for free, so you wont have to go and send off your gat to get it fixed.
Heaven Paintball don't quite have that sort of relationship with Dye Europe. You get that impression because what you have is a retailer who is real passionate about paintball and what he sells.

... I would upgrade and pay the extra and get a PM7; smaller, lighter, more phallic :)

its for my mate and he has £130-£140 to spend ruffly
Just for a marker ? Or for a full starter kit ? (I.E. marker, hopper, air, etc.) ??

If its only for a marker then go for an Ion, you won't get a PM5 for that amount.

If its for a full set of kit, (marker, hopper, air, etc,) then he's buggered. But I have a Piranha Eforce R6 with gravity hopper and CO2 tank he can have as a set for £50 + P&P if he wants.
