Snow is white !!!

OK Nick, here we go again ......... wanna rebut me with 'I don't think so Pete, it's black (or green or red or blue or magenta or anything you damn well like) because .... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ..............(insert any insane argument you would like to try validating snow is black)

i watched snow white and the seven dwarves.....if snow is black then nick is watching a completly diffrent version to me :confused:

Snow is not actually white. its clear (due to it being water) but due to the make up of ice, it reflects back all the visible spectrums of light back in equal amounts, making it appear white ;)

OK James, and all who sail with him, let me tell ya something Bucko; (the perception of) colour is exactly what you describe, in that what we really see is, a reflection within the visible spectrum of that particular item.
When I stated 'snow is white', it is inferred I was talking about its colour properties and not its intrinsic properties.
Anything outside of that is diving into the realms of philosophy which I self-evdiently was not doing.

If I say that snooker ball is red, the light absorbed by that snooker ball is everything but red and therefore the red wavelength is reflected back to your retina and so, your point is academic mate, sorry James, but you did start it mate :)
