Why ?

What right does any one user have over another when it comes to content.?

Why shouldn't Nobby new guy be able to brag or slag about the latest Masters hug-a-thon ..Why does the user who plays the NPPL, NXL have more rights than Nobby to these boards..Do you think it's the latter thats buying PGI every month ?.

There may be a difference in interest from some of the user base (granted) but as far as consistent posters go I get the impression there are more that care about the local tournament scene than drop in to educate us all on the big leagues.

Not a dig ..just a question...

I have been around these boards for a little over six years according to my user cp (seems longer) and in that time I have posted a fraction over a thousand posts.
I think I am quite busy on this board for many reasons but something is bothering me.
I like to think before I post that what I write will add to the thread and the majority of the time I think it does but.........

Why the **** do we have people who have been members for next to no time, obviously know **** all but think it is a right to post inane drivel anywhere they wish just to increase the post count as if it some right of passage into the paintball community.

I will pay you as much attention whatever your post count is as long as the post in question has some semblance of intellect on show.

So to the point of this post, to try and stop the type of post that must annoy more than me could it not be that posts of less than x number of characters would not add to your post count - thats if we have to have it at all.

People that post like that are called post whores mate. Forums are full of em everywhere so don't sweat it or get your panties in a twist about em.

it's a fact of internet life, best get used to it.

I guess a lot of the people that post drivle are doing so because that's what they're used to on the internet. Many forums don't have anywhere near the grammer standards of this one and its difficult for someone new to know what to and what not to post in context of what other people find interesting, so they just post what they find interesting or what they think is important. (Yes they should read the stickys but lets face it, they won't) A lot of people also post because they don't know a massive lot about the game and want to be recognised in the community (therefore post anyway but post drivle) so that people know them and they make new friends.

Russ, I bet you posted some right sh*t when you first started in paintball.

Not on the internet, obviously. You probably had to get a monk to write it out for you.

I used to scratch it on a slate that I stole from Robbo's cave and then sent it round via a prehistoric carrier pigeon:), when that died I just did cave drawings at a desolate place in the middle of the rain forest and I admit I had lots to say about Genghis K and his mates
I have posted ****e many times - not necessarily when I first joined but it is the drivel that some members post that is only posted I believe to get a higher post count that gets on my nerves.

Perhaps it's my age. :eek::(:eek:

It's true I could have something that resembled a conversation with him whilst in the cold cold rain of sunday.

Still I think it is annoying when people don't post decent / worth while threads. Things like the "Guess who's going to win the KotH this week," thread should be frowned on a bit more. Also the "How would you like the Classifieds?", This is nothing against the people that post the threads just as Russ has mentioned .... THINK FOR GOD SAKES, as I'm sure some people have better things to do than read your verbal diarhorrea (sp) before getting to the worth while stuff.
well considering that between the two mentioned thread, they have a 60+ response, i think that people, overall, consider them useful, plus the fact that they have a poll response of 162 between them (114 on the classifieds one) again, proves that if people thought it were ''verbal diarhorrea' whatever that is, then they wouldn't post/respond to it. considering you voted in one, and tom voted in both of them suggests that you really don't have anything better to do then, yeah?
