well to be honest last years campaign was a joke from start to finish.

we took our team and 95% of them had not even played a big event before.

But the way it was run and just every thing that went on IE the cars being robbed every 5 minutes the rudeness of the refs just the whole lay out of it all put some them off for life, it even made some of them give up paintball cause they thought if this is what the best has to offer well i would rather go and spend my money some where else.

And i am not saying this in a bad way our team came second but they do know if they wont to play the best then they have to play the event.

Just some of my thoughts.

I would love to play all of them but it all comes down to money time and the willingness of players wanting to play at the end of the day.

from my experience of campaign cup last year i would never play the millenium series again. now i know that you cant judge a whole series from one event and there have been changes in this years set up and hopefully ill be playing the whole series next year.

by no means am i trying to put teams off this event but if im honest i had more enjoyment from the PA that same year. by no means am i bitter towards the event because like makie said, we came second and i was more than happy with that result.

but with the likes of what robbo and russel have said that if teams want to step up there game and play agains some high quality teams then this it the tournament to play

That's the whole point of what Russ said. It's yet again player apathy actually. Get out there and lock horns against some of the best in Europe guys, instead of coming up with some half baked excuse.

It's all about ambition and how far you REALLY wanna go in competitive paintball. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't play the Millenium ever due to the costs alone, but then again I don't play at all. I just ref period. At the same time I don't go on the forums claiming to be sh!t hot at paintball, capable of drilling teams all by myself. At the end of the day if you want your chance to shine you gotta grab it by it's bollocks and squeeze HARD.

As most of you know, I have known the guys on the Millennium for far too many years to mention and over that period I have locked horns with them, once gain, far too many times to mention.
I know for a fact they would like to do the right thing by players, teams and vendors but something seemingly gets in the way and for the life of me, I can't nail it.

Their rhetoric is for the most part what you'd expect when having to deal with customers but I'm afraid their actions, and in some cases, inactions, screams insanity.

I know for a fact that whenever I get into with them, they never think for one second the problem is with them, oh no, it's me going off on one.

The problem is always with the accuser and never them and perhaps this continued arrogance is a real obstacle to them doing the right thing for paying customers.
They seem to have little to no political awareness although Laurent is in a privileged position here and should know better. They seem to have little to no customer awareness which for the most part is mere common sense so that lack of attention is beyond me.
I have had untold discussions with a lot of them and I end up hearing the right words (eventually) only for them to either do fack all about it or worse, they drop another clanger that just makes me despair.

To be honest, part of their problem is they all wear too many hats, they are not a harmonious working group though no doubt you might hear them declare the opposite but I honestly can see things never changing unless they change their line up or their culture.

Socially, I quite like Steve, Barry Laurent and I even talk to Pedro now, as for Manfred? Who knows, he's about as dynamic and as expressive as a peanut and doesn't get too involved.
I know Steve, Barry and Laurent and maybe even Pedro would like to do the right thing (as long as it didn't compromise their other businesses in any way)
but they really do not have a collective idea of what to do, where to go or even how to do it.
They have had some really good ideas and for the most part they do a pretty good job but as Sergey always told me, 'Pete, the devil is in the detail'.
These guys have no idea about the necessary details to attend to and maybe they should really take a time out and think about what they are doing and take some outside counsel......
First thing I'd do, and I know I am being predictable here, I'd sack ulrich von klinkerhoffen ......he is trying to create paintball's very own Third Reich.
i know this may be politically incorrect but I don't give a sh!t, the man is rude, offensive, insulting and intransigent..I'd fu!kk him off out of it in a heartbeat.
The reason they keep him on????
If I told you, you wouldn't believe me
They should then listern to thier customers and more importantly...they should take note of what's being told them and not just see it is an attack or an insult cos for the most part, these people will have genuine complaints.

further to my previous post, i would like to clarify that i do not think the millennium series is anywhere near good value for money, far from it. for me and the rest of the squad coming from Ireland the average tournament costs us around £600 for a guaranteed 8 games.

at the same time, they know that we as tournament players have no other choice in which large series to play. i think another major series to rival the Millennium may get them to sharpen their pencils somewhat.

the team i play for are playing our first tournament at campaign in M5 obviously, we cannot wait, we are all shacking up in one of the guys houses and its going to be an amazing event, sure we will probably get owned most games but its the experience that counts, ever since march we have been putting money in the kitty to pay for it so the acutal expense is not that great!
