Right, I've got sent a parcel that I was hoping would arrive before I left my flat for a while. It didn't arrive and flat mates away so no one can collect it. Anyone know if I can have it resent to another address, I know it can be resent to the same address but can it be sent else where. The RM website is not very helpful on this matter.

Cheers guys.

You need to grab a mail redirection form from the post office. You fill in your new addy etc. and choose how long you'd like to redirect the mail for ie. 3, 6, 9, 12 months or something like that.

It costs more the longer you want it redirected for. I can't remember the exact details, but ask for the form in your local PO and they'll explain it all.

Prob best to pop into your local PO and check. I'd bring a few forms of ID's and a few letters to the old address if possible though, can't remember what proof they need.

Don't want just any riff raff coming in trying to redirect and nick other peep's mail ;)

If they can't deliver it (get a signature from the house) then it will be returned to the office and held for 1 week for recorded and 3 weeks for all other items before being returned to sender. After the failed delivery you can arrange to collect it from the Delivery Office, ask them to re deilver to an alternative local address or arrange a local collect from a post office (costs 50p this one)

check out www.royalmail.com/redelivery or phone 0845 600 0606.

But they wont just redirect 1 item, otherwise as said Mikey wouldn't receive any of his thai brides

Just spoke to them after getting throught the automated system. When I get the tracking number I can have th parcel resent to my local sorting office and pick it up from there with ID. The guy on the end of the lime was very helpful.
