They can do it. They must put their hand on their head to show they have been eliminated. We decided to shoot anyone who did'nt have their hand on their head. And i'm suprised they were still doing it after they played us. We almost put the geezer on his arse.....he went bright orange....

I did not agree
The refs were really really strict, but I prefer this situation, than the opposit.
They take time to explain their calls if you ask.
Of course they've made mistakes, like when my team mate slide to the teabag ask for a check, and while the first marshall check him and say "play on, play on" the second one run to make a 1for1 because he plays with an impact!
But to my point of view, it was the best reffering I've seen, even with the mistakes.

To many Ref with overzealous 1-4-1 saw one feller brake for snake gets tagged finishes the move and starts to check him self see the hit starts to leave field, the ref sees it starts pumping his arms even though the play pulled him self.
Lots of other incidents, saw game completely get change cause Ref 1-4-1 races:rolleyes:

When a marshal a 1-4-1 is called the players that are pulled out know why because the marshalled has told and/or motioned to them. This should be the same when a played is hit but does know he has been hit, the marshal should pull him out and say why i.e. hit on foot, pack, etc.,

Yes, for sure. The mainproblem is that the refs nearly have no time to talk to you, they need to focus on the game.

Personally, I think as ref it´s your job to keep the game running and not punish players (even if it would have easily been possible to take ´em out before they play on).

In Toulouse we often felt that we are punished by the refs, cause THEY DIDN´T ANSWER QUESTIONS....(even if they were 100% right and did their job well). Only thing you heard was always "hand on you head" (even if you already had ;) ).

Sometimes as player you don´t know why you´re taken out. Not touchin´ the box (hey, what´s wrong, I did not get hit!?), 141 from a teammate when a ref doesn´t call it to you etc....many situations an ANSWER would probably help you to understand what is going on. And, that´s what I was thinkin´about, it would of course help you to understand the refs better and prevent blaming them for things (only you!) don´t understand in this situation. Just a short explanation will help a lot!

Think this is easy to fix for Germany. And it will help putting refs + players more together than lettin´em behave like enemys. :)

Don´t really remember, but I think it was an the CPL field when I heard one ref talkin´to another " No team that has been given a 141 has recovered from this during the gamepoint we´re it was called." So, think it´s clear that 141´s normally finish gamepoints...in Xball....

I just want to say one thing: All refs in Toulouse have done a great job, even the best I´ve seen on a Millennium court yet! Thanks 4 that. Think a little bit more talkin and there will be no "bad taste" left after Maxs Masters.

I also thought that the quality of the reffing at the Toulouse event was very good and has hopefully set a standard for the remainder of the season.

Also, as always, there are a couple things that need to be worked on, I thought that the marshalls were too eager to pull 1 for 1's on players, even when it wasn't justified, most instances were when players were running and they dove into their bunkers and got clipped on the pack or hopper or stuff like that and they refs immediatly pulled 1 for 1's, even though most players didn't play on or could have done anything in order to avoid the penalty.

What this will lead to is that players will either actually play on (Since they're getting the penalty anyway...
This is going to take alot away from the game of x-ball if players manage to run to a good position off the break (Like a corner for instance) and they need to stop and have a ref check them otherwise they'll get a 1 for 1...it's ridiculous.

But nonetheless, thanks alot to all the marshalls that helped make this a very good event.

I thought the reffing was good but a bit OTT on occasions.

I took a shot to the leg so immediately checked it to find that it had bounced (lucky me i thought) so carried on playing, the Ref cam running in with out checking and 1-4-1 me for flinching. As he run off to impliment the 1-4-1 i shouted to him to check me as it did not break so he 2-4-1 me for speaking whilst eliminated. Now if i had called for a check on the front of my leg (Shin area) he would have pulled me as its a self check area.

Now i know i should of not spoken whilst eliminated but felt i was still in the game and wrongly judged. We lost that game due to losing 3x palyers straight away.

Hopefully this will be the same as marseille last year where the Marshalls were extremly strict for the first event and then chilled out.

I think in every country i always a little bit of "local ref support", but from what I've heard from my teams, 141 were flying around the not french teams too much, but not vice versa.

A little bit sad but hey, there are only 3 events in a french speaking country. :D
