I have seen some red dot sights for my icon made by 32 degrees its around 30 quid.. is it worth getting?
heres the link to one. http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1921019

the only real concern i have with them is that its supposed to go on my rail.. but the hoppers in the way?
no point in sights... you rarely use them on the field, because you look at where the paintball hit last and work out where to shoot from there.
tippys have sights which i found to be useless... (the sights not the tippys)
spend the money elsewhere if you ask me.

And by the time you have set up your sight for that wind, that paint, that barrel. The game will be over.

Then once you have looked down the site at someone, they will be 3ft from your head and you will be in alot of pain :)

Spend it on paint and have fun :)

Wait, how many people here have tried a laser dot sight, and found it to be ineffective before telling this guy how ineffective it is?

Raise your hand.

I think you should try a cheap laser beam projection one with the pressure pad that come with BB guns, they cost about £2, and you can tape it on the end of your barrel :p
Give it a whirl, £2 isnt much to lose if it doesnt turn out to be that good.
There are slightly more expensive, metal adjustable ones for like £5. Try that if you want something a bit better and wont break after being shot.

Infact, im going to give it a whirl next training and see what happens, heh.

so your going to be watching the red dot that youll have to project on the actual thing that your opponant is hiding behind rather than aiming to the side of it ready to put a lane down there when theyre going to come out?
also waste time trying to see the actual dot.

i used to play airsoft with my mates so i know what its like using a red dot sight and laser site

If you want a red dot just to make your marker look cool and all milsim then fine. but consider these points.
1)by the time you actually locate the red dot on your target.....your target or someone else just lit you up like a christmas tree.

2)if you expect it to be spot on like rifle scope then you gonna be dissapointed as you need to take into acount the paint your using (dimples not perfectly round etc..) and of coarse you have wind which will throw paint way off the mark.

3)Its just one more thing on your gun to get hit. Now i dont know about you but i would be pretty p!ssed if i got shot out because of a none functional part on my gun.

And you dont need to of used one its basic physics one .68 capsual of paint travellint at x speed with a side wind of y speed = missing target:D

If its behind your hopper anyway the red dot site, will just show on your markers feedneck, and yeah sites are useless. So unless you want a small disco on your marker, don't get one. ;)
