Air Tank Leak (Part II)

Hi guys,

This is following on from a thread I made a little while ago, where I was trying to get rid of a leak from my regulator which was (slowly but surely) draining my tank. I took the fill nipple off, gave it a clean but the leak was still there (too quiet to hear, but noticeable with the gauge dropping over a day or so).

I came back from training on Sunday and was cleaning some paint off the regulator and noticed bubbles forming in the seal between the regulator and the bottle itself, which I would guess is the source of the leak. This might be normal, but seems a bit dangerous considering the tank is holding over 3000psi. The pics show where the bubbles are forming:

The tank is almost empty, just wondering what I should do to eliminate this leak (i.e. removing the regulator and cleaning the seal) and how to safely put it back together again.

Hey mate
all it needs is a new Oring, either send it to me and I will sort it or give it to me at Reading.
Failing that send it to PLANET and I will get Nicky or Robert to look at it.
I wouldnt let it worry you too much as they have a long thread inside the bottle and I am pretty sure it wont blow out, but if you are that worried then send it to me or PLANET.

just about every air system i've owned over the last seven years have leaked slightly in some way or another that includes crossfire,angel air,armageddon..etc. I always presumed air systems leaked slightly due to the nature of there design

Empty the bottle, unscrew the reg from the bottle, you will find a rubber 'o' ring between the bottle and reg, replace it, put the fill rig back on the bottle and it will be sorted

2 of my Stako's have leaks and Im not worried. Just to lazy to fix them

they shouldnt this is an example of why it shouldnt

would a glass filled with water leak? no because it have been made to do tht job.
