I'm currently running both freak and pipe kit.
Accuraccy.........nothing in it
Bore sizes..........freak has more, but you'll never use all of them anyway?
Noise................freak quieter thru porting, but hey who cares?
Cleanng.............Here's the big one, the pipe is far far far easier to clean, if you have to take your barrel off on field, then you stand no chance of disturbing the inserts or anything like that with a pipe kit. If you've ever had trouble with your gun and it starts to chop, then you will quickly learn to hate the fiddely pipe kit.
Weight.............i could be wrong but i think the pipe is lighter, it feels it to me?

OK, so this is just my opinion but as i have and am using both barrels i think it's a fair one. The pipe on my cocker just feels to me to be that little bit better on a game to game basis, true it's a little louder but when your screaming obscenities up the field a few extra decibels doesn't hurt, does it? If your a stealth player then the freak would be better but then i wouldn't buy the freak for that either as there is much quieter barrels out there.
The Freak on my Ion works perfectly well but i tend to find i only ever use probably 3 inserts anyway so i have 5 spares to look pretty?
I'm a little concerned about the long term accuracy of a barrel system that rely's on 2 orings to keep the inserts straight?
Overall, the freak isn't bad but in my opinion the pipe just has that bit more :) "feel":) about it, and that's what i recommend:cool:

Personal choice as said b4,but you've limited yourself to 2 options.
There are plenty more about, unitec, deadlywind, lucky to name but a few.
Personally I've used both systems, the pipe kit is cheap and good but takes up a lot of bag space.
I've also used the Deadly wind (carbon fibre) which uses the inserts as the freak and I must admit I prefered that but it was pricey.
I would use either depending on the price same results anyway..:D

i have to say i've used a freak kit on my old shocker and loved it, i almost got a pipe kit, but found it easier to replace inserts than backs - but i guess that'd be personal preference! oh, if you don't look after the freak inserts, and say... stand on one, you will bend it out of shape. warning!

I've got a freak Jnr on my 06 ego and tbh there's not much difference difference between that and the stock barrel.

But if you get the freak make sure you get perfect bore to paint match, then it'll be schaweet. ;)

But in most barrels depends on the bore to paint match.
