Hello there,

Firstly let me apologise. This is probably going to be the first of many questions I have as someone who is literally about to take up the sport.

Having only ever played a couple of games of rec ball several years ago, some (most) of my questions might seem a little (understatement!) dumb. But I guess everyone has to start somewhere so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without goin into too much detail myself and a friend have decided to take up paintball and althought it might sound a bit daft we have already bought some gear.

Proto Rail PMR Marker
VL Evolution 3 Hopper
JT Pro Flex Mask
3000psi Air System
etc...

Apologies for rambling on but my first question is regands the PMR...

Having read the manual I am totally in the dark. I havent got a clue how to set it up, what settings it should be on, what is legal within a game ie. are you allowed to use your marker set to full auto? Can it be set to semi auto and switched to full auto easily?

Also is there anything I should be doing before I actually fire off any paint ie. it was mentioned to me that I should fire of around a 1000 shots of air to help improve efficiency on air?

As I say any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

First all welcome to the wonderful sport of paintball.

with regard to the settings on the PMR most walk on sites will either be semi only or a few will allow ramping, most if all sites/tourneys will not allow full auto.
Also most of the settings on the pmr should be fairly easy to change but not on the field (eg you will have to take the grip off) this is to ensure that the marker remains set to either semi only or the ramping that is allowed at the site/tourney rather than people being checked and then half way through the game adjusting the ramping rate or fire mode.

The thousand shots you have been told about probably refers to the LPR bedding in. You can put paint through before this happens.

Although I've used Proto markers before i haven't used a PMR any problems you have it might be worth while either PMing either Fly or Ash - DYE Europe on this forum (fly is a dye tech and ash -DYE Europe well the name says it all!:D )

Hope this helps

Matt

Yeah that great thanks.

If you dont mind could you tell me a little more about what ramping is and how it works? Is it condidered a form of cheating?

Cheers

welcome to this sport mate

nice kit list you have the only think i have to say about it is about the JT Pro Flex Mask as if you get shot on the lower part of the mask you will get slaped in the cheek by it what hurts abit .

any questions you have about paintball just post them up and peaple will answer .
