The nearest station is Basildon but its a bit of a trek on foot taxi or bus would be your best bet from the station.

The walk from Basildon train station would take yiou through the town centre. You could do it in 5 but with kit bags slightly longer. Taxi woudl cost you about £3.
The site is just down the road from Festival park.
Hotels are right on festival park BUT Wait until the special rates are negotiated they tend to save a fair chunk of money.
The ironic thing is that I will most likely be staying at one of the hotels - easier to stagger to the room!You could actually walk to Spike's house in less than 5 minutes....
