sorry to trouble you guys but i would like to pick your brains please.
i have recently got a rail and was using it (ramping on 20bps) with no probs for about five or six games.
then suddenly mid game my rail die`s .
no lights, no power and so i tried to turn it back on and no joy!
returned to safe area (thinking i must have loose battery connection).
when i removed the battery i noticed it was warm! (now thinking there is a short).
i checked connections and replaced battery (new one incase other was faulty/flat).
when i fitted battery the solenoid activates (once and once only) before marker is turned on??
marker will turn on but will not do anything??

i have checked trigger (micro switch is not stuck on)
i did have pulse rf chip/harness fitted (now removed)
i have not done a full strip down.
i was not diving/running/banging/shocking marker.
when i fit new battery i have not left it in for any length of time to see if it gets warm too.

got any ideas/recommendations please?

thanks
pete

When you say it will not do anything, can you turn the marker on/off? What colour LEDs light up? What about the eyes, can you turn them on and off? Degassed, is the solenoid cycling with eyes off when you pull the trigger?

Do a couple of tests so we can eliminate a few things.

How did you connect your RF chip? plug in or solder?

sorry syd
the only time solenoid cycles is as soon as you fit the battery (before you can turn on marker) and it only cycles the once. regardless of air on/off.
as regards led`s they work fine. green-eyes on, flashing red-off etc etc but solenoid will not activate with trigger pull(no, the trigger micro switch is not stuck in and eyes are off).
i am thinking its a solenoid short due to solenoid activating as soon as battery contacts terminals.(but i aint sure)

thanks for the help syd

Does the Soleniod click when you pull the trigger?
no.
it only activates/clicks when you put the battery to terminals(obviously before i can turn on and it only clicks once each time batt is touched to terminal)

Hehehe LOL.

I had the same stupid problem with my NEW PM7 !!! stupid board.

I will also tell everyone now that there is a floor in the PM7, the detents rubber is so soft that the bolt RIPS them apart and the CHUNKS go back into the bolt assembley, can you say bye bye O-rings and bolt stick!

This is solved by using DM detents (Hard plastic ones with springs) but still !!! :(

No I am not the only one that had this problem, I have 6 mates with the detent issue loacally. And 8 mates in south africa...

As for the boards I know of 3 already !!!

I love proto/dye but these issue's need to be look at!
