Advice To Bring on Junior Player

That is not my point Disco.:)
My point to Tommeh was we could of been top if we had done a couple more events and we are SW.
I have said on the NSPL site that going to clinics and the NQ will help more, (sorry I did forget Dartford, but Pinky mentioned it) as well as clinics from Robbo and Nicky T. I also know Twizz, Big Dave etc from many moons ago when you were having your first maybe second birthday party!!!:p I know these guys will help Bob more than some of the wannabe's in the NSPL that will mould him into a little model of themselves. No disrespect for the Cynergy clinic, but who picked their team??? Was it Robbo??? I know for a fact the team was already picked (because I was told there was a spot for me, flame me if you like guys!) but Robbo was the one who helped out loads.
I totally agree there is not as good opposition in the NSPL as there is at other places around the UK and that is the point of my answer. Our aim this year was to prove you can go out and get results by having fun and feilding a different team every tournament. Yeah we went off the boil to the end but we still had fun and NONE of the big teams walked all over us. Even if they did we wouldnt care. I didnt want promotion to the first devision as I think the prize money will cause no end of upset and arguments. There isnt enough "Qualified" marshalls to warrent this in the NSPL and I know Syd is offering training, this will all have a bearing in my veiw. Even the joining of div 1 and 2 at SW and SE legs I think will cause hassle. What happens if you guys (ECI) get down to the wire like this year and your last game is against us (a div 2 team) We beat you and you lose top spot??? I respect all you guys, but I think if Div 1 is for prize money amounting to what it does then playing div 1 teams will be fairer. I know all the "there isnt enough teams to feild complete divisions" argument, so lets not go there please.
This is going completely off topic as Nick asked for advice, not for us to argue amongst ourselves.
I have stated Bob needs to get about, Nick needs to put cash away for hotels if he is going to travel and I have also offered any help I can give to Bob.
Lets keep it on subject and not get into petty arguments.
Nige
Ps. in answer to your "dont train much" comment. We DONT train at ALL!:p

My view on this
Concentrate on your son's enjoyment of the sport
Let him play the occasional tournies nothing more
But training he should attend regularly

Training and a Good Education is all he needs

WTF are you talking about? Are you drunk, dissillussioned or just plain talking crap?
So I take it Robbo didnt help then Syd??
I was told he would be picking the team, so if I am wrong I am sorry!
Im sorry but I wont recommend the Cynergy clinics with the crap I had with a couple of your players, that NEARLY resulted in me pulling my teams out of the NSPL and I think you know I have lost respect for them. I still find them disrespectful and have had NO apology.
I respect you for what you do in the NSPL before you say anything and I didnt see it was for you to apologise for them.
If you want to flame me for saying I was offered a spot, I thnk you should talk to your management team and get the facts.
If you want to slate me for this, then you are welcome to talk to me face to face.:)
Now lets not get into a slanging match on here, you have my contact details and you will see me soon enough at the NSPL.

First of all, Nige, I'm either misreading what you are saying or you're dodging the subject.

You say that the team was pre-selected and Robbo did not really pick the first players for Cynergy. And then you say this...

So I take it Robbo didnt help then Syd??
What the hell? Robbo DID select the initial team Nige - ask him. Ask the players. Why would we hold trials days if not to pick a team?

The insinuation that the trails were fixed is not only rediculous, but also an insult to me, Robbo and those guys that worked their asses off to earn those spots.

Next, no one gets to decide who is on Cynergy except me. So whatever conversation you had with whoever, trust me, you were never offered a spot, maybe offered a place at the trails, because it was an OPEN TRIALS DAY afterall.

I don't not why this crap has resurfaced again, but if you've got an axe to grind, come grind it with me. If you do it in public, I will respond in public and protect the interests of the hard working, passionate, and talented guys on my team. And if you state "facts" in public that are out-right lies, then I will call them such.

Now, that's get back to encouraging Nick in the development of his driven and excited twelve year old son to be the next best paintballer in the UK FFS.

WTF are you talking about? Are you drunk, dissillussioned or just plain talking crap?
Ok Syd
I think you flung the first insults mate.:)

I didnt say the team was fixed, I said I was offered a spot. Now whether that is right or wrong or whether it was at the TRIALS or not, I am sure that will never be known. Just seemed like the phone calls I had were pointing out a little more.
I have no axe to grind with you or with most of the team as SOME of them are friends of mine.
I know Robbo worked hard as he always does to help new teams and players, as well as the other guys who made the team, so I dont know where that come from.

The crap resurfaced again because of your first comment and I stated why I wouldnt respect the Cynergy clinics, that is all. Anyone can pass on information or watch DVD's and I stated where I think Bob will learn more.
The good old forums again, the place where you have to ask permission to post. We all have views and forums is where we express them. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong!

I have no interest in discussing any crap that has or should be put to rest as I really cant be bothered. I just want to play paintball and hang out with my friends, where ever that may be.

See you at the first round Syd:)

Like you said, back to Bob.......

Well, you've confused the hell out of me. Frist you seem to be saying one thing and then another. So, I don't see the point in carrying on this discussion and will leave it there.

As for Bob, he does have a great option on his doorstep. The NSPL Academy as a place to start honing his skills and the option of Cynergy Academy or Cynergy to start developing his competitive experience. All of which are great environments for any aspiring young player; Cynergy Academy in particular is made up from mainly very young and promising players that he could connect with and find a home.

His options to train in these environments would include Re-Ball training whenever he wanted, VERY regular drill and game training days with Millennium players, trips to Dartford and other places to clash with the big names, and a lot more.

In addition, he could easily take the opportunity to grab some work with myself to help pay for his paintballing and teach him the important lessons of working to pay his own way.

Your opinion shouldn't discount that great opportunity just a few miles from his doorstep and I trust Nick will give that option some serious consideration. I'm hear to talk about it if you want Nick.

Just to bring some clarity to proceedings here, Syd asked me to go down and pick a team of 7 guys from the people who turned up.
Nobody told me who to pick, nobody could do that in Paintball, trust me.

We held the trials over a couple of freezing cold days and I chose 5 players.
I couldn't choose 7 as arranged because I felt there were only 5 players who I believed had a chance so my selection was of the best 5 there.

After I had made my selection, Syd asked me if it was OK to tag two other guys on to make the numbers up, one was a fat guy with a big mouth and no brain and I can't honestly remember the other one.

I couldn't fill the required quota of 7 and as far as Syd was concerned it made sense to come away from that weekend with 7 players.
As far as I was concerned, it was OK with me, it was Syd's team and I had done the best job I could in selecting the best 5.

That's what happened, pure and simple !
